At Southern Star Immigration, we believe in cultivating and strengthening our roots in the Central Southeast and we work hard to give back to our community which has been so supportive. Advocacy, education and service are at the very heart of our firm. Our attorney and his team are members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), a professional organization of immigration attorney and his team from around the country which also embraces these goals. Martin Lester has served on AILA's national Unauthorized Practice of Law and Consumer Protection Action Committee and is currently the Chair of the Unauthorized Practice of Law committee for the Central Florida Chapter of AILA. Stanley Walker has served on the Central Florida Chapter’s Department of Motor Vehicles liaison and Advocacy committees. He was the Vice-Chair of Education for the Chapter from 2013-2015 and is currently serving as the Chapter Chair. In addition, Stanley Walker has been designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico as a Consultant Attorney to the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando, Florida.

At the local level, we are affiliated with the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce Cultural Awareness Committee. We frequently sponsor and participate in local events promoting cultural diversity and immigration reform. In the summer of 2011, we had the honor of participating in the Alabama Candlelight and Prayer Walk which peacefully expressed opposition to Alabama's anti-immigration legislation and we have worked hard to educate and inform those who may be affected by the same.

Finally, we also work to protect the immigration status and rights of victims of violent crimes. Through relationships with local law enforcement agencies, we assist clients in applications for U and T visas. Additionally, we have a collaborative effort with a local domestic violence shelter where we offer pro bono immigration services to victims of domestic violence. In short, Southern Star Immigration, P.A. is more than just IN the community – we are INVOLVED in our community.
